Team: Operations
The Operations Team is responsible for planning and coordinating various events throughout the academic year. These include the Annual Accounting Dinner, Annual Spring Networking Night, Résumé and Interview Workshops, and CA, CMA, and CGA Information Sessions. The Operations Team is also responsible for promoting and educating students about career paths within the accounting profession.

Vice-President Operations
- The Vice-President Operations' duties are to delegate responsibilities to the Operations team; event planning for both external and internal events; coordination amongst our sponsors to ensure their needs are being met; room bookings through the York University community; and seeking finances from the Vice-President Finance. He/She is responsible for the coordination and implementation of their team's activities, and reporting back to the President.
- The Vice-President Operations must demonstrate strong leadership qualities as well as exceptional written and oral skills.
- The Vice-President Operations is regarded as an individual who takes initative and oversees the APAA calendar year as it progresses.
- The Vice-President Operations should have prior experience in event planning and organizing in some capacity.
Operations Director
- The Operations Director duties include the researching, planning, coordinating, promoting, and execution of APAA related events.
- These events include, but are not limited to, Employment Fairs, Information Sessions, Fall and Spring Campus Days, Orientations, Annual Accounting Dinner/Lunch, Annual Spring Networking Night, APAA’s Annual Case Competition, Tabling Events, etc.
- He/She would report to the Vice-President Operations.
- Candidates should possess strong communication skills.
- The Operations Director will also be responsible for other tasks delegated by the Vice-President Operations and coordinating between the Communications Team.
Senior ICAO Ambassador
- The Senior ICAO Ambassador’s primary role is to act as a liaison with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAO) of Ontario, and perform any duties assigned by the respective institution. He/She is to promote its designation’s student associate program, and take an active role in the planning and execution of information sessions (usually one per year, preferably one per semester) for the respective designation.
- Attendance is required at the ICAO’s quarterly Board of Associates’ (BoA) Meetings, and he/she is responsible to recruit team(s) for the ICAO's Annual CA$H Competition and to promote the Save the World Challenge. Office hours are also to be held twice a month in conjunction with APAA office hours.
- The Senior ICAO Ambassadsor is also required to assist in the planning and execution of various APAA related events alongside other Executive Council Members.
- Candidates should be entering their second or third year of study (as of September 2010), have an intent of pursuing the CA designation, and possess strong communication skills.
- The Senior ICAO Ambassador will also be responsible for other tasks delegated by the Vice-President Operations.
Junior ICAO Ambassador
- The Junior ICAO Ambassador’s primary role is to act as a liaison with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAO) of Ontario, and perform any duties assigned by the respective institution. He/She is to promote its designation’s student associate program, and take an active role in the planning and execution of information sessions (usually one per year, preferably one per semester) for the respective designation.
- He/She is also responsible to recruit team(s) for the Annual CMA Case Competition.
- The CMA Ambassador reports to the Vice-President Operations. He/She is also required to assist in the planning and execution of various APAA related events alongside other Executive Council Members.
- Candidates should have an intent of pursuing the CMA designation and possess strong communication skills.
- The CMA Ambassador will also be responsible for other tasks delegated by the Vice-President Operations.
CGA Ambassador
- The CGA Ambassador’s primary role is to act as a liaison with the Certified General Accountants (CGA) of Ontario, and perform any duties assigned by the respective institution.
- Liaise with CGA Ontario's Business Development Manager, to perform assigned duties and provide certain updates.
- As the CGA Ambassador, one would be required to provide monthly reports to the respective representative on the aforementioned responsibilities.
- The CGA Ambassador reports to the Vice-President Operations. He/She is also required to assist in the planning and execution of various APAA related events alongside other Executive Council Members.
- Candidates should have an intent of pursuing the CGA designation and possess strong communication skills.
- The CGA Ambassador will also be responsible for other tasks delegated by the Vice-President Operations.
