Great food, fantastic prizes, exciting games, and awesome company. The venue was Dave and Buster’s; the night was Thursday, March 26, 2009, and it was the Atkinson Professional Accounting Association’s Annual Spring Networking Night! What an amazing night it was!
Golf is like the cream for my coffee. However boring or useless it may seem to some, this is not true. In fact, the amount of components involved in the technique and game of golf poses enough challenges to keep you on the tip of your feet anticipating the next challenge. Whether it’s a full day on the course or a couple hours at the driving range, it really does offer a creative way to have fun.
Many students in the past have approached us asking about what it is really like to work in a large accounting firm, and what it is that differentiates one firm from the other. Instead of telling them, we figured we’d show them! That was the premise of APAA’s Office Tour, which took place on March 9, 2009 at the downtown offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers. APAA student and Executive Council members gathered in the lobby to head upstairs for what was sure to be an incredible experience for everyone. The event started off with a presentation from the PwC recruiting team, headed up by Campus Recruiting Manager, Krista Mooney who talked about what she felt differentiated PwC from other large, national firms in terms of their corporate culture, their attitude towards the development and advancement of their employees, as well as PwC’s constant efforts towards the betterment of their community through the PwC Foundation.
On February 3 2009, the Atkinson Professional Accounting Association in collaboration with the Certified General Accountants of Ontario put together an event that reached out to an untapped student group of limitless size: Industry Night!
